Produzido pela Filmation (a mesma que, anos mais tarde, criaria os clássicos He-Man e Os Mestres do Universo, BraveStarr e Fat Albert and The Cosby Kids) e exibido pelo canal norte-americano CBS, os 34 episódios do morcegão - com 12 minutos de duração - consistia em dois segmentos, um apenas apresentando o Batman, e o outro apresentando o Cavaleiro das Trevas ao lado de Robin.
